The findings indicated that reciprocal teaching had a significantly positive effect on the English reading comprehension and usage of the four main factors of reciprocal teaching strategies of EFL students.Ībstrak-The present paper is a quasi experimental research at the objective of finding the improving student's reading comprehension achievement in Islamic education through the cognitive strategies and to what extent these cognitive strategies influences the student's reading comprehension achievement. The subject of the research was STKIP Muhammadiyah of Enrekang as Islamic education consisting. of 50 respondents each class consisted of 25 respondents, one class a control and another class as the tentative one. The observation checklist consisted of four statements for rehearsal strategies, three statements for organization strategies, and one statement for elaboration strategy about Islamic education. The research findings showed that the students' reading comprehension increased for both groups from pretest to posttest. The past three decades has seen an increasing interest in the effective ways in which learners approach language learning. Researchers hold the assumption that given effective learning strategies, ineffective learners could be in a better position to solve their problems in language learning. A research in this field tries to illustrate the relationship between college students ' learning. This study was measured by Pearson statistical analysis and restated that there are indeed differences between successful learners and less successful learners in terms of strategy use. There is also a strong relationship between reading strategies used by readers and proficiency level.
